Hepatica transsilvanica Fuss

Flora Europaea the original Linnean specimen           The most emblematic species of Transylvania, present however only in the southern half of this region. The species Hepatica henryi (Oliver) Steward (illustration and description from Flora of China) is said to be the closest relative of this species, a fact that we consider as quite doubtful.
